To make working from home a success, here are some basic guidelines and principles the we need to check out:
DO's
Maintain communication with the Team (quick huddle for updates and other tasks or just for a chat)
Dress Appropriately (still) – In case of on-the-spot meetings or conferences with your client, you still look presentable
Invest in the right equipment (laptop, noise-cancellation headset, etc) – set up your office
Decorate your workspace (to spice up the place) – try adding desk lamps or adding family pictures of your friends
Set regular work hours and stick to them (you still have life after your shift) – spending the rest of your time with your family takes away the stress
DON’TS
Don’t snack all day (eat on your break time only)
Don’t turn the TV on (you’ll get distracted)
Don’t work anywhere (not on the bed!!!)
Don’t forget to take regular breaks – stepping away from your screen for a while to protect yourself from eye strain or headaches
Don’t forget to move – mini workout or stretches to boost or restore your productivity if you are feeling a little blah…
The benefits of working as a Virtual Assistant
Virtual Assistant are the ones who provide assistance or work remotely, which means doesn’t need to report to a physical office. Been working as a VA for a US employer and help them in sourcing future Virtual Assistants as well. I listed down the benefits and advantages of becoming a Virtual Assistant.
Work from Home Set-up. Working in the comfort of your home can be anyone’s dream. You don’t have to go to a physical office and also you get to work anywhere. On a family vacation, on the beach, or anywhere with an internet connection will do.
No stress from traffic. Yes, you don’t need to wake up super early just to get to work on time and to avoid the dreaded Traffic.
No Dress Code. You just wear your comfortable clothes, but of course, it needs to be presentable in case of any meeting. You also save money on laundry(wink)
Increase Productivity. When you no longer have to waste your 2 or 3 hours of travel time a day, you can spend it doing productive things. You can increase knowledge and skills by attending pieces of training or seminars (upskill), engaging in sports, or just spending most of your time with your family, especially with kids.
Career Advancement. As you gain more experience, we are given an opportunity to craft our expertise, to work on improving strengths and skills.
